Why The Rose?
Each night, my daughters and I end our day with a simple but powerful mindfulness exercise we call Rose, Bud, Thorn. We take a moment to reflect on the best part of our day — the rose. We acknowledge something that didn’t go as well — the thorn. And we share a hope or something we’re looking forward to — the bud.
This practice has become a treasured ritual in our home. It reminds us to appreciate the good, be honest about our struggles, and always look ahead with hope.
When it came time to name my speech-language private practice, “The Rose” felt just right. It reflects my belief that in every experience — even the most challenging ones — there is always something beautiful and worth holding onto. Sometimes, we just need a little help to see it.
Whether you’re navigating speech and language difficulties as a parent, a child, or an adult, my goal is to support you in finding your rose. Together, we’ll celebrate strengths, work through challenges, and look toward a brighter, more confident future.
